JACO Environmental offers environmentally safe appliance recycling with curbside pick up.

Free e-Waste Recycling Events are offered by Contra Costa County’s Waste Reduction and Recycling periodically.  At these you can dispose of electronic waste such as televisions, computers and components, stereos, cell phones, etc.

Freecycle is a nonprofit community gift giving movement set up as yahoo groups for your local city.  If you are in need of specific items, you can post “WANTED:name of item in Concord”.  If anyone in the group has the item to offer you, they will contact you.  When you need to let go of things, you post “OFFERED:name of item in Concord” and members will email you to arrange pick up if they are in need of the item.

You can also offer items for free on Craigslist in the “For Sale >Free Stuff” section.

Please visit the Contra Costa County Hazardous Waste Program to find a list of items that cannot be thrown away with your regular trash.  They also list their drop off facilities for these toxic items.
